OrganOur Mission…
The St. John’s Organ Committee’s mission is to research,  develop and communicate a recommendation to the congregation of St. John’s Lutheran Church for a suitable organ that will lead and enhance worship in a way that continues the musical tradition of our church for generations to come taking into consideration cost, long term performance and investment,  and the acoustical environment of our sanctuary.

Who we are…
Our members include: Lis and Rich Dicce (edicce@aol.com),  Alice Dreher (amdreher@aol.com), Evelyn Edwards (ikeeve66@aol.com), Debi Taylor (us5taylors@optonline.net), and Jan Panarese (jan711@optonline.net.). Cindy and Rex Holden have been our subject matter experts and Pastor Noack and Vicar Koontz have provided ongoing support.

What we’ve been doing…

In the month of April the committee visited various churches to hear and experience different types of organs such as electronic, electronic/pipe combination and pipe organs. We visited ten churches between New York and New Jersey. In addition we received information from the Allen Organ Co., Rodgers Organ Co., Casavant Organ Co. in Quebec and Peragallo Organ Co. in New Jersey.

Music and song has been a vital part of bringing the message of God's love and forgiveness to His church. Here at St. John's the organ is the primary instrument in our worship and for God's mess to His people.

The committee is recommending a pipe organ for St. John's, We believe we should not recommend anything less for our church than what we already have. A pipe organ is a value in tradition and will last for generations to come. It is made of solid materials, operates with no repairs except routine tuning and minor adjustments, providing two or three generations of trouble free performance. Greater longevity means lower cost. A pipe organ is a superior instrument, producing a beautiful, superior sound and performance. It will be custom built for our sanctuary and can be tuned to the needs of our space to a well blended, mellow sound if that's what we desire. A beautiful pipe organ will enhance our worship to the Lord. Cost and funding of a new organ is included in the cost of the overall church renovation.

Thank you for the opportunity to be a part of this experience. Should you have any questions about our recommendation or our process please feel free to contact any one of the committee members:   Lis and Rich Dicce (edicce@aol.com),  Alice Dreher (amdreher@aol.com), Evelyn Edwards (ikeeve66@aol.com), Debi Taylor (us5taylors@optonline.net) and Jan Panarese (jan711@optonline.net.

Thank you for your support!
